Brenda Bowen is Assistant Vice President for Government Affairs for the Bank Policy Institute. She is responsible for overseeing BPI’s lobbying activity, compliance reporting, and day-to-day management and administration of the BPI Political Action Committee (PAC). She assists in organizing and hosting fundraisers, special events and meetings. She also provides operational support and works closely with the lobbyists in supporting advocacy efforts to advance the policy priorities of BPI members.
Prior to joining BPI, she worked for the Financial Services Roundtable (FSR) in the government affairs department. While with FSR, she was instrumental in managing administrative duties for the government affairs team and served as the PAC and lobbying manager. She established operational manuals and procedural guidelines for both programs. She oversaw the hiring process and supervision of government affairs interns.
Prior to joining FSR in 2008, Ms. Bowen worked for a Military Enlisted Association serving as a legislative liaison advocating on behalf of National Guard enlisted soldiers and airmen helping to enhance and secure entitlements for service members and their families. In this capacity, she coordinated with other military organizations and Congressional offices to help advance the Associations’ key legislative priorities and initiatives.
