Brian Anderson served as former Senior Vice President, Technology Regulation for BITS at the Bank Policy Institute. In this role, he oversees regulatory, advocacy, and policy efforts on issues related to cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, cloud security and resilience, data security and privacy, financial technology (“FinTech”), and developing technologies.
Prior to joining BPI, Mr. Anderson was Senior Director, Financial Services at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, a bilateral trade policy organization seeking market access opportunities for US-based firms. He previously served for three years as a Counsel for the House Financial Services Committee, Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit during the 115th and 116th Congress. There he worked on legislation in the financial institutions, consumer finance/credit, fintech, and data security/cybersecurity policy portfolios. Prior to his time on Capitol Hill, he worked for the Independent Community Bankers of America, advancing their lobbying and advocacy efforts to Capitol Hill and prudential regulator audiences, and ensuring a unified industry voice for community banks.
Mr. Anderson graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.A. in Political Science and earned a J.D. from American University.
