Washington, D.C. – BPI President and CEO Greg Baer issued the following statement today in response to President Trump’s executive order to pause all pending regulations:
“We strongly support President Trump’s decision to pause all pending rulemakings. Regulatory actions should be grounded in the law, backed by data and developed through a transparent process that ensures accountability and public input — the foundations of good governance. The incoming administration should extend its review beyond pending regulations to include policy statements, interpretive rules and agency actions illegally enforced by regulators as binding rules without going through the required notice-and-comment process.”
