Bank Policy Institute Continues to Build Its Team

Washington, DC — Today the Bank Policy Institute (BPI) announced that it has hired five new staff members to serve in roles throughout the organization.  Naeha Prakash has joined the regulatory affairs team, Gonzalo Fernandez Dionis and Adam Freedman have expanded BPI’s research team by more than 50% and Sarah Mamula and Austin Anton have joined the Public Affairs team.

“Our mission at BPI is to ensure policy makers understand the essential role of banks in driving economic growth in the U.S. and our new team members will play an important role in telling that story,” said Greg Baer, President and CEO of the Bank Policy Institute.

Naeha Prakash is BPI’s new Associate General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Consumer Regulatory Affairs and is responsible for developing and managing BPI’s advocacy and policy work in the area of consumer financial regulation.  Ms. Prakash comes to BPI from Debevoise & Plimpton LLP where she was an attorney in the firm’s Financial Institutions Group focusing on consumer finance and bank regulatory, transactional and compliance matters.  Prior to her time at Debevoise, Ms. Prakash served as a Counsel at the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, where she worked on fair lending and other consumer finance matters.

Gonzalo Fernandez Dionis is a Vice President and joins BPI from Columbia University where he recently added a Master’s degree in Public Administration where he specialized International Finance and Economic Policy to his degrees in economics and law.  Adam Freedman is an Assistant Vice President and most recently earned his Master’s degree in political economy from Georgetown University.

Sarah Mamula is Assistant Vice President, Public Affairs where she is responsible for ensuring coordination across the government relations, communications and membership and events teams as BPI integrates the functions to maximize advocacy efforts. Most recently she worked for the Global Women’s Innovation Network as Senior Director. In that capacity, she managed all internal and external operations for the non-profit.  Austin Anton is an Assistant Vice President, Communications Specialist, where he helps implement the organization’s communications strategies and is expanding the organization’s digital media profile. Mr. Anton worked most recently at the Goldwater Institute where he designed and implemented the organization’s national policy strategy as National Policy Manager.
